Jennifer Shiao's School Committee Blog
This blog reflects my own views about the Amherst and Amherst-Pelham Regional School Committees – it does not represent the view of the committees, the district, or the superintendent. Jennifer was first elected to the School Committee in November 2021. She is an unapologetic independent voice on the School Committee, where she prioritizes listening to those most marginalized and most affected by issues.
Jennifer is the parent of an ARHS student, an Amherst homeowner since 2009, and a graduate of NY state public schools.
As a UMass employee since 2012, Jennifer is an active union member and believes strongly in the collective power of unions.
